English Courses

No more of the dull parade of endless grammar sheets and memorization, English class is full of the exploration of interesting and relevant texts that will help students think critically and analytically about the media that surrounds their day to day lives. While some of this exploration is in fact, learning about grammar and writing conventions, it is presented in a way that examines it in it’s natural habitat, rather than on a contextless worksheet.

My English units are designed to help students use the six language arts to fully explore and comprehend the world around them. Students will practice their listening by being read to aloud, at any age,  and read to themselves, silently or in groups. They will analyze the allusions that permeate pop culture, and learn the joy of saying precisely what they mean. Most of all, they will practice the type of writing they enjoy the most – or learn what type of writing they enjoy the most!
